Harvest Family Center

This rented property near the railway slum of Khon Kaen is intended to be a haven for many troubled children, youths and families of the community. We hope this will be a safe haven where many will find solace from the storms of life. We provide counseling to parents who are in trouble. We also help children at risk i.e. abuse, rape, etc. and sometimes refer them to government bodies for further help/ follow-up.

Harvest Saturday   Harvest Sunday   Feeding Program   Ministry In Schools
This program helps children with subjects like Thai, English, Mandarin and Math. Most of the children in the community are not keen in their studies because their parents don’t take an interest in them. We hope that this program can provide them with a good foundation for these subjects and encourage them to have a good attitude towards their education. We give input on character building too. Extra tuition is given on Tuesdays and Thursdays for those who cannot read or need special help with other subjects. This program is run on a budget of ฿5,000.00 (US$166.00) per year for teaching resources.

In this program, we teach moral values to the children using the Bible. The children learn to sing action songs, play games, worship with sign language, listen to teachings (Bible stories), have discussions and share needs in their respective age groups. We have an average of 20 children, and 15 of them come regularly. A budget of ?5,000.00 (US$166.00) per year has been allocated.

This is held at the Harvest Family Center (HFC). Most of the adults in this community collect recyclable items and have very little time to care for the needs of their children. On normal school days (Mon - Fri), their children get lunch from school. But on weekends, many of them go without lunch because their parents are out collecting recyclable items. Hence, we feed these children. Our budget for each meal is: ฿450.00 x 2 days = ฿900.00 per weekend x 52 weeks = ฿46,800.00  (US$1,560.00) per year.

Presently we are going into a school in Khon Kaen that has almost 600 students and conducting weekly sessions for these children aged 6-15. We do fun-filled programs teaching them life skills that are crucial to their development.

Train a child in the ways he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

The Children’s Ministry Network in Thailand aims to build and empower all children’s ministry workers so that they can train their children in the way of the Lord. So that these children will be strong and good disciples who have a clear stand for Christ, and be the salt and light of the world.
